Lodge Officers

The following members of the LEC serve in a lodge-wide capacity and work hard to bring you a great experience in the Order of the Arrow.

Serving at the helm of the lodge for his second year is Lodge Chief Cory Johnson. Cory oversees all lodge operations, presides over Lodge Executive Committee meetings, and represents the OA throughout the council. In Scouting, Cory previously served as the Vice Chief of Administration and Section C-6B Secretary. He also served as the 2017 NYLT Senior Patrol Leader and serves as the youth representative on the Council Executive Board. A senior at Wauseon High School, Cory is the captain of the speech and debate team and editor-in-chief of the school newspaper. He has been on OA High Adventure treks to Northern Tier and Sea Base and served on staff at the 2017 National Jamboree. In his free time, Cory is an award-winning journalist with The Village Reporter and INTV 5- the local public access station. His favorite quote is “The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others” -Gandhi.

Returning for his second year as a Lodge Executive Committee member, Jon Baker currently serves as the Vice Chief of Administration. He is tasked with overseeing committee operations, the promotion of lodge events, and lodge membership dues. A graduate of Findlay High School, Jon currently attends Owens Community College where he volunteers with the Hancock County Children’s Mentoring Connection. An Eagle Scout and Brotherhood Honor member, Jon serves as an Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 338 and has been to Philmont. His favorite flavor of ice cream is Buckeye.

Trevor Wurth returns to his third year on the Lodge Executive Committee, but his first as the Vice Chief of Program. He previously served as the Hawthorne Chapter Chief and Conclave Chairman. In his current role, Trevor will oversee the execution of all lodge events and the lodge’s role in the Section Conclave. An Assistant Scoutmaster with Kalida’s Troop 221, Trevor is an Eagle Scout and Brotherhood Honor member of the Order of the Arrow. As a senior at Kalida High School, Trevor is also active in band, show choir, and FFA. After learning to sail while a lifeguard at Camp Lakota, Trevor now owns three boats and balances sailing along with his schooling and positions in Scouting.

Rocking his first term, Ray Brumbaugh is back to serve as the Lodge Secretary after previously serving as the Arrowwood Chapter Chief. In this role, he takes minutes at Lodge Executive Committee meetings, updates lodge forms and paperwork, and manages Lodgemaster- the membership database. Ray is a junior at Findlay High School and Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 319. He is also a Camp Berry staff member where he cites his favorite Scouting memory as kayaking down Eagle Creek. In his spare time, he enjoys camping and playing backyard football.

An Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member, Zach Schiefer returns for his second year of service to the Executive Committee as Lodge Treasurer. In this role, Zach is tasked with creating an annual budget, overseeing the budget for each event, and managing the trading post. A graduate of Van Buren High School, Zach currently attends The Ohio State University majoring in Computer Science. In college, Zach has taken up various activities like sleeping, eating canned ravioli and Taco Bell, hoping the Browns will win and being depressed when they don’t, and contemplating the space-time continuum.

No stranger to the Lodge Executive Committee, Matthew Ayers returns this year to his second term as Communications Chairman and his fourth overall term on the Lodge Executive Committee. In this role, Matthew oversees the operations of the lodge website, social media pages, and much more. An Eagle Scout of Troop 777, Brotherhood Honor member, and avid Venturer, Matthew also previously served on Camp Berry staff and as our Great Oaks Chapter Chief and Lodge Secretary. A junior at Shawnee High School in Lima, Matthew is also involved in the Lima Area Youth Orchestra, Science Olympiad, German Club, marching band, The Chief Newspaper, Jazz Band, Pep Band, Lima Life Teen, and also makes websites on the side. His favorite pastime is coming up with exotic drum fills for pep band and jazz band.

Coming back for his second year on the Lodge Executive Committee, Nick Meyer serves as the Inductions Chairman, overseeing the membership process from the election all the way to Brotherhood. A junior at Pandora-Gilboa High School and Millstream Career Center, Nick is also a member of his high school’s baseball team. In Scouting, he is the Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 226 in Pandora, OH and a Camp Lakota staff member. An avid basketball fan, Nick can name over 200 NBA players.

Serving as the National Events Chairman, Andrew Borkosky is in his first year as a Lodge Executive Committee member. Andrew is tasked with being our lodge’s 2018 NOAC Contingent Leader and promoting OA High Adventure opportunities. A junior at Riverdale High School in Mt. Blanchard, Andrew stays active in quiz team and baseball along with staffing at Camp Berry and NYLT. Andrew is a big fan of musicals such as Hamilton and has a reputation for being skilled at Minecraft and Clash of Clans.

A veteran member of the Lodge Executive Committee, Ben Black currently serves as the Dance Team Chairman- coordinating American Indian Activities and dancing demonstrations at camp and local events throughout the year. A Deshler native, Ben previously served three terms as the Chinquapin Chapter Chief, many years on NYLT Staff, and became an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor member with Troop 262. A Chemistry major at Bluffton University, Ben is also active as the president of the school’s ultimate frisbee club, and member of chorale, theater, and various musical ensembles. In a movie about his life, Ben would want to be portrayed by Cory Johnson.

Previously serving as the Vice Chief of Program for the 2016-2017 term, Jared Metzger ripens the Lodge Executive Committee with wisdom and casts a vote as the Immediate Past Lodge Chief being the most senior registered youth of the previous term. Jared is a 2016 graduate of Bluffton High School and current sophomore at Wright State University majoring in Biology and Chemistry and volunteering with the Dayton area Habitat for Humanity. He is a Troop 256 Eagle Scout and longtime Camp Berry staff member. His favorite Disney movie is Hercules.

Chapter Officers

The Chapter Officers of our lodge work hard at a chapter level to bring information, fun ideas, and the lodge experience to Arrowmen in a local area. See our chapter pages for more information.

Serving as the Chinquapin Chapter Chief, Tyce Homier is a welcome addition to this year’s Lodge Executive Committee! In his role, Tyce organizes unit visitations and leads chapter meetings for the largest chapter- made up of Fulton, Henry, Williams, Defiance, and Paulding Counties. An Eagle Scout and Brotherhood member, Tyce has been to Northern Tier, Sea Base, and the 2017 National Jamboree while also serving on NYLT Staff. As a sophomore at Wayne Trace High School in Haviland, Tyce is on the cross country, bowling, and track teams. His favorite quote is President Franklin Roosevelt’s “The only thing we have to fear is fear itself”.

Justin Flanery returns to the Lodge Executive Committee for his second year after previously serving as Lodge Secretary of Records. In his new role, Justin organizes unit visitations and leads chapter meetings for the Great Oaks Chapter, made up of Allen, Hardin, and Putnam Counties. He has previously worked at Camp Berry and served in various roles in Troop 777 where he has obtained the rank of Eagle Scout. Justin is a junior at Shawnee High School in Lima, Ohio where he is active with the band, choir, and theater programs. In his free time, Justin is a singer and rhythm guitar player in the hard rock band, Deviation By Design.

A fresh face to the Lodge Executive Committee, Seth Goodwin currently serves as the Old Sycamore Chapter Chief, managing unit visitations and engaging members in Auglaize, Mercer, and Van Wert Counties. Seth also leads Troop 138 as the Senior Patrol Leader. A sophomore at St. Mary’s Memorial High School, Seth is active with his church youth group, a member of the bowling team, and entertains as the school mascot for the Roughriders.

Justin Hartman joins the Lodge Executive Committee this year as the new Arrowwood Chapter Chief where he leads efforts to engage members and deliver quality program to the nearly 120 members from Hancock and Seneca Counties. A member of Troop 314 and junior at Riverdale High School, he is an officer of his FFA chapter and member of the show choir, band, and quiz team. A true outdoorsman, he enjoys golfing, hunting, camping, and fishing as time allows. Justin looks forward to his first year in a lodge leadership position to gain more leadership experience and help open new doors for our organization.
